Samsung Galaxy S2 Released With Ice Cream Sandwich Pre-Installed

Samsung has begun selling Samsung Galaxy S2's that come with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed in parts of India, according to reports.

"Today, we received some confirmed info that Samsung is now shipping all new Galaxy S2 I9100 units with pre-installed Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich," wrote from YouMobile.org. "These new devices are now available on the Indian market, but we guess other areas will be getting it very soon."

The roll out of the Ice Cream Sandwich update has been slow. Even in the U.S., the update has not yet reached Galaxy S2 owners.

However, Samsung has promised that it will be in the United States soon.

The company stated that owners of the older versions of the Galaxy S2 should be able to update their devices in the coming weeks. However, customers who do not want to wait until it comes out can purchase these new S2 models with the software pre-installed starting in India today.

Another alternative would be to pick up the Galaxy S3 when it launches at the end of this month.

The device has already gone up for pre-order in many countries including the U.S. and retails at $800 off contract.

The Galaxy S3 also comes with Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed along with a slew of other impressive features.

Other specifications on the S3 include the Siri-like S-Voice feature, a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED high definition display and a quad-core Exynos processor.

U.S. versions of the device will be 4G LTE and will include the dual-core Snapdragon S4 chip.
