Samsung Galaxy S3 Features Have Users Touting It as the iPhone Killer

The new Samsung Galaxy S3 has impressed smartphone users with features that interact with "real world objects" using technologies such as Near field communications and WiFi Direct. The features are attracting millions of users across the globe and will ensure the smartphone will clearly be the biggest Android threat to the iPhone.

With a bigger screen than its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S3 has one feature called "Smart Stay" that has amazed users by being able to recognize when a user is looking at the screen, therefore disabling the display from timing out and fading away. The feature is an effective answer to a long term problem of smartphones fading out after a short while when there is no interaction with the user, even if the user is still looking at the screen.

Another feature is the "Face recognition" technology which makes the smartphone experience a more natural one. If a user has a photo of someone the clever camera will recognize them and bring up their contact details and tag them on social networks.

The smartphone also features another amazing accessory called "TecTiles programmable tags." They are NFC tags that can be programmed to set off a predefined function or setting in the smartphone, which includes adjusting phone settings, joining a Wi-Fi network, making a call, sending a text, among other things.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 also looks to recognize when a user wants to make a phone call. The feature works when the user is texting someone. If the text page is open but the user suddenly wishes to phone instead, then all they need to do is put the phone to their ear and the smartphone will automatically call the user that was being sent the text message.

These interesting new features, among others, are having smartphone users raving about the latest market leading device, and once again some are touting it as the iPhone killer. That may be the case for the moment, but Apple may have something else to say about it when they release their iPhone 5 later this year.
