Samsung Galaxy S3 Pre-Orders Begin in Canada

Rogers Wireless, a Canadian network service provider has begun offering pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S3.

The device will cost $149.99 with a new contract, according to a recent post on a Best Buy page.

However, this price can no longer be found on the page so it is subject to change.

Best Buy also listed what other Canadian carriers would charge for the smartphone with Telus and Virgin Mobile offering the device for $159.99. SaskTel is asking customers for the most charging them $169.99 for the Samsung Galaxy S3. All of these prices would be available when a customer signs a new three-year contract.

The presumed no contract price in Canada will be $649.99.

The Rogers' pre-order page does not list the smartphone with a quad-core Exynos processor included under its LTE capabilities. This means that the LTE version will probably be released with the dual-core Snapdragon S4. The carrier also did not list a release date on its page.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to launch in Canada on June 20, according to a leaked screenshot of an ad from the internal computer system of the company.

The screenshot shows an ad that could appear in a newspaper or magazine and it lists some of the major Canadian carriers stating that they will carry the phone and pre-order today. "Available June 20th" appears at the bottom.

Major Canadian carriers in the ad include Telus, Virgin Mobile, WIND, Videotron, SaskTel, Mobilicity and Rogers.

Samsung is also reportedly sending over a crew to Canadian retailers and carriers on May 30 for intensive training on the device.

Samsung officially launched its new Galaxy S3 smartphone in 28 countries around the world including the U.K., France, Europe, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Africa earlier this week.

Samsung has stated that it plans to launch the smartphone on 296 carriers in 145 countries by July.
