Samsung Galaxy S3 Release Date: Smartphone Enters Testing Phase

The release date for the Samsung Galaxy S3 should be arriving soon, as the smartphone is rumored to have entered into testing in Korea, the electronics giant's home base.

The news of the phone entering the final stages of testing originated from the publication AsiaE, who also mentioned that Samsung would like to speed up the process for the device that normally takes around two months.

The company seems to be anxious to beat Apple to the punch by releasing its high-end device before the next iPhone launches sometime around the summer of this year.

Another rumor that has emerged over the past couple of days saying that Samsung will choose to go with a 4.65-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, but not employ a PenTile pixel layout.

PenTile uses every green sub-pixel to allocate a red and blue sub-pixel with another green sub-pixel to create and absolute pixel density that is lower than a traditional LCD screen.

In other words, the company wants to avoid suffering a 30 percent technical loss of quality when it comes to other kinds of technologies that improve and optimize user's experiences with displays on mobile devices.

Samsung hopes to put out a product that has one of the most efficient displays in the market, according to this news.

However, none of this has been officially confirmed by the company.

It was also rumored to be launching within the next two months, so if it is just entering into its testing phase than the Galaxy S3 should be unveiled by the end of May.

Rumored specifications for the Galaxy S3 include a quad-core 1.5GHz Samsung Exynos processor, 2-megapixel front-facing camera, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 4G LTE connectivity, a Ceramic body and Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 will probably be available on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon when it is released.
