Samsung Galaxy S3 to Launch on Canadian Carrier With Quad-core Chip and LTE

A Canadian carrier known as Rogers is advertising a version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 that features both a quad-core Exynos chip and 4G LTE capabilities.

The Google ad for Rogers reads "Samsung Galaxy S3-with 4G LTE and new Exynos Processor."

This contradicts the recent news that states that U.S. variants of the S3 will not include the Exynos chip due to it being incompatible with 4G LTE networks.

Other quad-core chips including the Exynos 4412 and the NVIDIA Tegra 3 do not work with 4G LTE networks. This is why the U.S. variant is said to have a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 when it launches because that chip supports LTE. But now it looks like there is an Exynos chip that works with LTE and Rogers will be the first to get it, according to this report.

Verizon is expected to offer the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the rumored specifications for that device include the dual-core Snapdragon S4 chip.

However, that news has not been officially confirmed by the carrier, although it was discovered from a leaked user agent code from the Verizon's website.

Samsung unveiled the long awaited Galaxy S3 at its "Mobile Unpacked" 2012 media event last week that took place in London, England.

Other specifications on the handset include a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED touch-screen display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich and NFC (near-field-communications).

The Galaxy S3 also has a new Siri-like feature called S Voice that performs various tasks on the device by listening to voice commands.

"The GALAXY S III features 'S Voice,' the advanced natural language user interface, to listen and respond to your words. In addition to allowing information search and basic device-user communication, S Voice presents powerful functions in regards to device control and commands," said Samsung.
