Samsung Galaxy S4 Release Date Set for June: Case Shipments Points to Launch?

The Samsung Galaxy S4 release date could be set for June, according to a company looking to ship cases for the device that month.

An accessory manufacturer known as Pelican recently displayed its upcoming case line called Pelican ProGear and its banner has some well known devices on it such as the iPhone 5, iPad, and iPad Mini. The case maker also happened to have the Galaxy S4 on its list.

Pelican also announced that its new Samsung Galaxy S4 case will be arriving in June, hinting at the release for that smartphone taking place that month.

Rumored specifications for the Galaxy S4 include a 5-inch FHD sAMOLED 1980 x 1080 Flexible Display, 4G LTE connectivity, Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie, a 13-megapixel camera, and Samsung's latest processor, the Exynos 5 Octa that the company introduced at CES.

The Exynos 5 Octa is actually the world's first Octa-core processor and would make Samsung's Galaxy S4 the most powerful smartphone on the market.

The Galaxy S4 being released in June does not seem that farfetched, as Samsung launched the Galaxy S3 around that same time in 2012.

It is arguably the most anticipated smartphone of 2013 and will go up against the next-generation iPhone and BlackBerry 10 OS when it is finally released.

RIM has built up a decent amount of hype for its new operating system that will debut at the end of this month. Meanwhile, Apple is rumored to be releasing a cheaper version of the iPhone in the next few months in order to meet the demand for lower-end smartphones in areas such as China and India.

The Galaxy S4 is also rumored to run Samsung's new Tizen OS.
