Samsung Galaxy S5 Concept Shows Off Flexible Display That Wraps Around Device

A new Samsung Galaxy S5 concept model created by GalaxyS5Info.com brings a new type of display to the conversation.

The site's version of the upcoming smartphone introduces a display that is quite different from what we have seen before on past handsets. It is a flexible OLED YOUM screen that is 5.3-inches in size. It wraps around the edges of the device and has an olephobic coating.

By extending the screen to the sides, the need for physical buttons is no longer there as those controls could now be operated with the touch screen. The home button has also been removed and replaced with a touch sensor.

The exterior design features an aluminum unibody that is water and shockproof. The power button is also a touch sensor and a glowing LED is near it to alert users of notifications, missed calls, texts, mail and other things.

There also will be a profile switch button that allows users to keep customized settings under two options along with a max performance mode and a hybrid PowerSaver mode. This PowerSave mode will provide 50 percent more runtime for the device.

Slots for the SIM, microSD and charger are all located in the same place on the concept.

In terms of specifications, the concept model features a 2GHz Exynos Octa-core processor, 16-megapixel rear camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, and a 3.2-megapixel front shooter which can shoot videos in 720p.

This Galaxy S5 would be available in three storage options including 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB models. It features 3GB of RAM total and sound quality is also improved from previous iterations as it will come with Quad Surround speakers with S::Surround Technology.
