Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge Update: Devices To Feature MircoSD Slot, Water Resistance & Longer-Lasting Battery
A day that goes by means a day closer to the launching of Samsung's highly anticipated Galaxy S7 and its bigger variants, Galaxy S7 Edge. According to Techradar, the device is expected to be unveiled to the public during the Mobile World Congress which is scheduled to happen in February. But even before it could make its official debut, several leaks and rumors have emerged all over the web already.
The latest in the rumor mill is the return of a feature that everyone missed in the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge: the microSD card slots.

But its seems like the South Korean tech giant heard the public's clamor and may bring back the feature once again to Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge. Venture Beat noted that the microSD slot will be compatible with cards up to 200 GB.
Aside from that, the next flagship devices are also said to bring back as well the water and dust-resistance feature. Ubergizmo detailed that there are reports claiming the devices will be IP67-certified.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will also come with bigger batteries, providing a longer lasting battery life. The former will be powered with 3,000mAh battery while the Edge version will come with 3,600mAh battery.
As for the display size, the smaller variant will carry the same dimension of the S6 which is 5.1-inches. The Edge variant on the other hand will sport a 5.5-inch display. Both screens will have the same resolution which is 1440x2560 quad HD.The expected processor that will be installed is the homegrown Exynos 8 Octa 8890.
As for the camera specs, both devices in the S7 series are expected to carry 5-megapixel front camera and 12-megapixel rear camera.
Samsung has not made any official announcement or confirmation yet on the details released so it's best to take these pieces of information with a grain of salt. Until then, fans will just have to watch out for further updates.
