Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus – Latest Android Tablet Unveiled

Samsung has unveiled a new addition to its line of Android tablets, the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus.

The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core CPU and paired with Android 3.2 Honeycomb with 1 GB of RAM. The tablet features a 7-inch, WSVGA (1024 x 600) pixel screen display. 16 GB and 32GB models will be available for users interested in the tablet's storage options.

An additional microSD slot offers users the ability to add up to 32GB of more storage for the device. 802.11n wireless support and the ability to connect to HSPA+ networks will be available.

A 3 megapixel camera for photos and a 2-megapixel camera on the front for video chats are also featured.

The tablet supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0, as well as 3G/HSPA. Its casing structure measures out to 193.65mm x 122.37mm x 9.96mm (7.63in x 4.82in x 0.39in) and its weight comes in at 345 g (12.2oz). These figures indicate that the tablet is much lighter than its predecessor. It does however maintain the 7-inch screen.

Samsung recently revealed a 7.7-inch tablet, alongside an 8.9-inch option at an IFA trade show in Berlin. Samsung also sells a 10.1-inch version of its Galaxy tablet.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus will arrive in Indonesia and Austria at the end of October. In the weeks and months to follow, it will make its way to the U.S., Europe and other countries. No pricing details have been revealed about the tablet at this moment.

The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus joins this week's tablet news alongside Amazon's Kindle Fire tablet. The Android Fire made its debut last Wednesday at an Amazon press conference. Its features have some similarities to Samsung's new tablet. The one key difference however is the Kindle Fire's known price tag of $199.

These tablets have now officially joined the ever increasing Android-based tablet market.
