Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Release Date and Price Info Latest News
Less than a month after Samsung revealed the Galaxy Tab S2, reports have emerged that a mid-August release date is imminent.
South Korean electronics company Samsung has confirmed they are releasing their upcoming flagship slate, the Galaxy Tab S2, on Aug. 11, exclusively in South Korea.
Featuring a totally new design setting it apart from Samsung's other tablets, the "class leading" slates will be the thinnest tablets the company has produced, with a 4:3 long and slightly wider aspect ratio at 5.6mm (0.2 inches). The new aspect ratio makes the new tablets more conducive for web browsing and reading.

The upcoming tablets will feature Samsung's 8-core Exynos processor under the hood, with 3GB of RAM, 32 GB and 64GB internal storage, expandable via microSD to 128GB, and a 2048 x 1536 full HD AMOLED display on the surface.
Both slates will pack 8MP main cameras with 2.1MP front-facing shooters. They will include a fingerprint scanner and sensor on the home button for added security, dual speakers at the bottom, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE support, and 5,879mAh and 4,000mAh batteries at the rear.
Weighing 256g and 389g, the Galaxy Tab S2 devices will be equipped with Samsung TouchWiz UX, run on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box, and come in an aluminum design in black and white variants.
The Galaxy Tab S2 8-inch slate will cost an estimated $513, with the larger 9.7-inch model priced at $685.
While the tablets will be offered to South Korea initially, it is expected to be available internationally around Aug. 21 in the U.S., with different price points of $399 and $499 as a competitive counterpoint to Apple's new products.
