Similar to other Samsung models, the Galaxy J1 may have an Ultra Power Saving mode and other customized software. The J1 will be available in four options, which are the LTE, 3G, dual-SIM LTE, and dual-SIM 3G.

Samsung Galaxy J1 adds to the number of affordable pocket-friendly handsets in the market. The device will automatically be compared to Motorola's Moto G and Sony's Xperia M2. Motorola Moto G received great reviews and it was reported to be the best budget-friendly smartphone of 2014.

Tech writer Gordon Kelly reviewed the Moto G and wrote: "The issue was Motorola sticking to the same chipset and battery, but I need not have worried. The Moto G still flies thanks to stock Android and the battery life is superb, outlasting any flagship phone I've used in 2014 due to efficiencies in 4.4 KitKat and smart Motorola battery saving modes. "

Other reviews of the Moto G said that the device has "exceeded expectations" and has "good performance" and "brilliant display." Moto G has also proved to be Motorola's best selling model.

Unlike the Moto G, Sony Xperia M2 failed to receive impressive reviews saying that the handset looks good physically but it cannot compete with its rivals. It was also reported to have low sales.Fans cannot wait if the Samsung Galaxy J1 can keep up with Moto G or will fail like the Xperia M2.

Reports say that customers should watch out for Samsung Galaxy J1 release, which is reportedly either tomorrow or at the Mobile World Congress on March 2-5 at Barcelona.
