Satanic Group Plans to Turn Westboro Baptist Church Founder Gay in the Afterlife
A New York-based satanic organization has announced plans to turn the founder of Westboro Baptist Church gay after he has died.
The Satanic Temple has stated that when Fred Phelps, who is presently in hospice care in Kansas dies, they will perform a "pink mass."
Lucien Greaves, spokesperson for the Satanic Temple, explained to the publication VICE that he promised to perform the pink mass for Phelps.

"As I have made a promise to a dying man, I fully intend to do my very best to see it through, and the pomp and circumstance of this pink mass will surely far, far exceed that of the original event in Meridian, Mississippi," said Greaves.
"As I write this, Fred Phelps is now in the process of doing probably the one thing that he'll ever do for which he will have my gratitude: he is dying."
Unaffiliated with any Baptist denomination, Westboro has garnered a reputation for its protests at the funerals of soldiers and celebrities.
Their demonstration has prompted a wave of legislation barring protests at funerals, as well as a White House online petition that garnered hundreds of thousands of names calling for the Obama administration to legally recognize them as a hate group.
Recently it was reported by Phelps' estranged son that the hate group founder was "on the edge of death" and had been "excommunicated" from the church he founded.
"I've learned that my father, Fred Phelps Sr., pastor of the 'God hates fags' Westboro Baptist Church, was ex-communicated from the 'church' back in August of 2013. He is now on the edge of death at Midland Hospice house in Topeka, Kansas," read a Facebook post published by Nathan Phelps.
"I feel sad for all the hurt he's caused so many. I feel sad for those who will lose the grandfather and father they loved. And I'm bitterly angry that my family is blocking the family members who left from seeing him, and saying their goodbyes."
This is not the first time the Satanic Temple has sought to perform a pink mass for a member of the Phelps family.
Last July, members of the satanist group held a pink mass at the grave of Phelps' mother, which was located at the Magnolia Cemetery in Meridian, Miss.
The temple members had same-sex couples make out on her tombstone and one individual wore horns as he oversaw the ceremony.
Greaves said in a statement last year that the event was held with the intention of eternally changing the sexual orientation of Phelps' mother.
"The Satanic Temple now believes that Fred Phelps must believe that his mother is now gay, in the afterlife, due to our pink mass," said Greaves.
"We decided that a same-sex couple celebrating ceremony at the grave site of Fred Phelps' mother was an appropriate way to meet the Westboro Baptists, 'in spirit,' but this time on our terms."
