'Scandal' Season 5 Episode 10 Spoilers: Pope, Gladiators Deal With A New Client
After what seems to be an eternity, ABC's hit political drama TV series "Scandal" is finally returning for the second half of its Season 5 and it looks like things are about to get even more exciting right off the bat.
The synopsis shared over at The Futon Critic for the Season 5B premiere, "It's Hard Out Here for A General," indicated that viewers will see a six-month time-jump ever since Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Fitz (Tony Goldwynn) called it quits. Both can be found experiencing their "newfound freedom" but in different ways and it would be interesting to see how it all turns out for them.
In one of the teasers released by the network for the winter premiere, it appears that Olivia may have already moved on from her breakup with the POTUS because she can be seen hooking up with Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) once again.
Fitz, on his part, will still be dealing with the heartache all by himself. His estranged wife, Mellie (Bellamy Young), has already moved out and is now preoccupied with her own political ambitions – one of which is to replace him once his term is over.
The Gladiators, meanwhile, will once again return to action, doing what they do best – managing crisis.
According to spoiler reports, Olivia and her team consisting of Quinn (Katie Lowes), Huck (Guillermo Diaz), and Marcus (Cornelius Smith Jr.) will be taking on a new client. The stakes for this case, however, is quite high as it is said that the company might trigger a national crisis if they will not be able to handle it well.
Deadline, meanwhile, reported that Season 5 has recently tapped actress Annabeth Gish for a recurring role. Details about the newcomer's character are still being kept a secret but speculations indicate that she could be running up against Mellie in the US presidential race.
"Scandal" Season 5 Episode 10 "It's Hard Out Here For A General" premieres Thursday, Feb. 11 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
