The previous episode of "Scandal" hinted of upcoming chaos in the episodes to come. It was evident that there was a lot of drama ahead as the characters seemed to face obstacles in each of their lives.
The happenings in the White House seem to unravel as Mellie, played by Bellamy Young, made a big mistake that will severely affect her presidential campaign. The episode showed Young's character giving out her presidential campaign plans to Hollis Doyle, played by Gregg Henry. With that, fans can expect Mellie to face some problems ahead.

The upcoming episode, titled "Pencils Down" will continue to highlight Mellie's inadequancies. It was stated that she will keep making mistakes that will play a negative role in her upcoming campaign. She will then turn to Pope in order to keep her from ruining her chances for the election.
In addition, a change in hierarchy was shown in the most recent episode of "Scandal." It was revealed that Cyrus, played by Jeff Perry, was no longer the Chief of Staff for the White House. The position will be taken by Abby, played by Darby Stanchfield. This will surely bring some tension between several characters of the series.
Meanwhile, Olivia Pope will be seen crazed over Jake, played by Scott Foley. She was seen stalking Jake in order to find out just what his situation is with his fiance. While Jake found out about it, OIivia also found out an important piece of information regarding his plans with his fiance. Because of this, the upcoming episode will show her getting her team together to find more information about his new fiance.
