'Scandal' Season 5 Spoilers: Fitz Is Alone All Along

The upcoming episode of "Scandal" is expected to bring some drama for the President of the United States.

After a heartbreaking midseason finale, it was stated that President Fitzgerald Grant, played by Tony Goldwyn, will have a challenging term ahead. He recently broke up his affair with Olivia Pope, played by Kerry Washington, right after his divorce with Mellie, played by Bellamy Young.

With that, the man behind the character recently spoke to Parade about the fate of the President, as well as his relationship with Olivia. He explained that Fitz will be feeling more alone than ever, since many of the people in his life will be busy with their own affairs.

Because of this, he will be forced to work on his own challenges with no support. Goldwyn stated, "I can tell you that Fitz is all alone… Olivia is trying to move on with her life, I am not sure what that means. Mellie is gearing up to run for president, and the presidential campaign is beginning to generate momentum."

Aside from his responsibilities as a president, it was revealed that he will still deal with the aftermath of his breakup with Olivia. He stated that he will be dealing with the pain throughout the upcoming episodes.

It was stated that he will be turning to Abbey during this time of his life, since all his companions are busy with other responsibilities. In addition, it was stated that he will also try to get close to Abbey since she's close to Olivia.

As for Olivia, fans are hoping to learn more about how she will deal with her newfound freedom. It was revealed that she will be portraying a new kind of personality now that she has broken up with Fitz.

"Scandal" season 5 airs on ABC every Thursday nights.
