Sean Kingston Says God Saved His Life for a Purpose

Singer Sean Kingston has attributed his survival of two recent near-death experiences to God's Work.

“It feels great. It’s a blessing… For me to still be here, it’s God’s work. I think my work isn’t done. It wasn’t my time yet,” said Kingston to People.

Kingston, after 11 days of hospitalization for a nearly fatal Jet Ski accident, was rushed to the operating room for open heart surgery to repair a torn aorta after telling doctors about stabbing pains he felt in his chest.

“He tried to die a couple of times with us, but we refused to let him die,” one of Kingston’s doctors said Thursday on NBC’s Today show.

Kingston had just made the news for the near fatal jet skiing accident which had singer Justin Bieber urging fans to pray for his injured friend.

Kingston made it through the surgery.

“I had a lot of pain,” Kingston said to People. “But when I went to visit the surgeon [afterward] he said, Yo, you had a guardian angel that day.”

The 21-year-old singer seems happy to be alive and has began taking better care of his health.

He lost 70 lbs recently during a health and exercise kick after weighing over 300 lbs before the accident that almost took his life.

“I do the bicycle, I do the treadmill, I play basketball. But I got to keep it up and lose more weight,” he told MTV. “It’s easy to gain weight when you’re in the studio. That’s how it first started out, but I’m cutting all that out. I don’t eat after 6 [p.m.], and then I really just do the treadmill, and that’s what it is. I feel a lot better.”
