Selena Gomez Hits top of Billboard 200 with No 1. 'Stars Dance'
Pop singer Selena Gomez topped the Billboard 200 for the first time in her career with her fourth album, Stars Dance.
The record sold 97,000 copies in the past week according to Nielsen SoundScan and even surpassed Jay-Z's Magna Carta Holy Grail. The rapper's album only sold 77,000 last week.
Each one of the 21-year-old's albums has succeeded their sales gradually. Her debut album in 2009, opened at No. 9 with 66,000 sold, her second at No. 4 with a little over the previous, and her 2011 at No. 4 with 78,000 sold.

Gomez's latest single, "Come Get It," is currently at No. 6 on the top 200, her first time in the top 10. It is also No. 2 on the Pop Songs airplay chart according to Billboard.
The "Stars Dance," singer is the youngest female pop singer to reach the No. 1 spot since Taylor Swift in 2010, who was 20 with her album Speak Now.
Gomez, always in the headlines for her on again of again relationship with Justin Bieber, recently spoke out to confirm that she is no longer seeing Bieber, and they are not back together.
The news comes after speculation arose that Gomez was seen at a party with Bieber. However, despite the continued attention about her relationship with Bieber, Gomez has tried to stay on track and keep things focused on her new music and not the latest Bieber scandals.
"The whole record is me being a woman and wanting to explore that and being comfortable in my skin and my body, and exuding confidence," Gomez has said in interviews.
About Bieber, Selena has said, "I've known him for a really long time and we enjoy each other's company every now and then. But I'm definitely single and enjoying being that."
