'Sense8' Season 2 Release Date: Netflix To Release Second Season In August?
Since the news that Netflix had renewed the sci-fi drama "Sense8" for a second season came out in August 2015, not much else has been heard about the critically-acclaimed Netflix web series. With no official word about a Season 2 release date, fans of the program are left to hunt for clues on when their favorite series will return to the small screen.
Luckily, several cast and crew members of "Sense8" have dropped hints about the forthcoming Season 2 release.
In December, actress Tina Desai, who plays pharmacist Kala Dandekar on the show, announced what may or may not be the start of filming for the second season of "Sense8." Just after Christmas, Desai tweeted that she was leaving Mumbai and flying to Germany. "Boarding the flight for Berlin- Sense8 S2 shoot!!!," the actress said.

This bit of news gave rise to speculation that the second season of "Sense8" may be released in August this year. As Fansided notes, it took the "Sense8" team about seven months (from June 2014 to January 2015) to film the show's first season. Thus, if the series began filming in December, an August release would be likely.
According to Bryce Olin of Fansided, "If I had to guess, I would guess the release date of 'Sense8' Season 2 will be Monday, August 8, 2016, which is also one year after the 'Sense8' Season 2 renewal announcement and another sensate birthday."
However, John Toll, who is the main director of photography on "Sense8," has said that the series may actually begin filming a bit later. In an interview with The Film Stage, Toll was asked whether or not he would return for the show's second run. He answered: "I think so. We're talking about it. It's just sort of starting to fall into place with scheduling and everything."
When asked when shooting for the second season is expected to begin, Toll replied, "They're talking about March."
Creator J. Michael Straczynski clarified the December filming report via Twitter, saying, "It's a separate shoot to grab footage during the holiday, not the start of full-on main unit shooting."
There has been no official word from Netflix about the second season premiere of "Sense8."
