Seth Meyers Reveals Son's Name and the Meaning Behind It

Following the birth of his first child with Alexi Ashe, Seth Meyers has finally shared the name of the baby boy: Ashe Olsen Meyers.

According to People, Alexi Ashe, a human rights lawyer, delivered baby Ashe on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at a Lenox Hill hospital and during his "Late Night with Seth Meyers" episode on Tuesday, Seth shared more details about his baby's arrival.

During the episode, the host clarified that his baby's name wasn't derived from actress Ashley Olsen. "No one will think that...because I've long been a Mary-Kate guy," he joked.

He went on to explain that Ashe was borrowed from his wife's maiden name while Olsen was his mother's maiden name. For Seth, there is no better way to honor two important women in his life than to pass on the legacy to his first child.

"I can't picture a better way to honor what my wife did than naming him after her. The middle name is Olsen, which is my mother's maiden name. To be able to name him after those two women..." Seth said.

Aside from the baby's moniker, Seth shared how his wife declined to receive any drugs as she delivered the baby. Before arriving at the hospital, Alexi's water already broke but fortunately, nothing bad happened and baby Ashe was delivered successfully.

In a series of tweets on Monday, the host thanked fans, family, and friends for their kind words and support. He said then that both baby Ashe and Alexi are doing well, adding that his wife was "amazing" even as she labored before giving birth.

Earlier this month, the award-winning television personality talked about how he and his wife prepared for the baby's coming. He said he received good advice from couples who already had more than one child. For him, couples who have two or more children know better since they have enough experience when it comes to raising kids.

Seth is best known for his latest stint on TV, "Late Night with Seth Meyers," a late-night talk show that airs on NBC at 12:35/11:35c.
