Simi Valley Makes Porn Makers Wear Condoms
A new law that was recently passed by the Los Angeles City Council could have on-duty police officers watching pornography in an effort to enforce the current law.
The City of Simi Valley is known for its adult film production and the new law that took effect March 5 would require all pornographic productions to use contraception during the filming of their movies.
The law was written in an effort to make the industry safer in terms of spreading diseases such as HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

As the law is written producers in Simi Valley have to submit their unedited copies of their adult films to the Simi Valley Police Department for review.
"I'd have to look into that, but that seems pretty absurd," Edward Arenas, CEO of Naughty America, told the Huffington Post of the new law.
But many in the industry are skeptical that the law can even be enforced or that the police department has the resources to provide for enforcement of the law.
"There's not enough resources to police and enforce those laws," Arenas said. "A lot of production is done in private residences in a day or a half-a-day. People just pack up and move on to the next location."
Arenas was also concerned that the new law would affect his customers because when film participants use condoms they "take away from the fantasy aspect."
But many Simi Valley officials were concerned that the pornography studios would move their productions from office buildings into their backyards.
"The primary purpose here is it's a health and safety issue. And secondarily, we don't want them here," Simi Valley Mayor Bob Huber said of the new law. "This is a family-oriented community, and we don't want them setting up their studios in Simi Valley."
