Sprint Offers $100 Credit to iPhone Owners Getting the iPhone 4S

Sprint is planning to offer a promotion where it will give customers willing to trade in their current iPhone $100 towards the purchase of a 4S with a new 2-year agreement.

News of this promotion leaked from a website known as TechnoBuffalo.com.

"If you're an iPhone customer considering jumping ship to Sprint, the Now Network's upcoming promo just might be enough to influence your decision," wrote the site. "A trusted source has shared with us that starting on May 18th Sprint will begin offering a minimum of $100 on any iPhone trade-ins towards an iPhone 4S."

T-Mobile ran a similar promotion earlier this month, where it offered customers $200 for any iPhone trade-in.

Sprint began carrying the iPhone last year when the 4S was released in October.

T-Mobile does not carry the iPhone, but prides itself on providing service for over 1 million unlocked versions of the device.

The carrier has stated in the past that it has no problem taking AT&T's unlocked iPhones on its network.

Sprint's partnership with Apple has been quite beneficial to the carrier. Carrying the iPhone has brought a significant boost to its sales. Not carrying the iPhone 4S ended up doing the opposite for T-Mobile.

Now the major carriers seem to all be racing towards perfecting and spreading their 4G LTE networks in as many areas in the U.S. as possible.

The reason for this is that the next-generation iPhone, rumored to be called "the new iPhone," or iPhone 5, will be an LTE device.

Both Sprint and T-Mobile plan to roll out their LTE networks in the near future.

AT&T and Verizon have been successful in establishing their LTE networks in most of the major cities in the U.S. Both of them carry the new LTE iPad.
