Lawless, known for her portrayal of the title role in "Xena: Warrior Princess," and as Lucretia in "Spartacus: Blood and Sand," plays the mysterious Ruby who blames Ash as the beacon calling in the Deadites to attack. "Meet the Fockers'" Santiago plays Mexican immigrant Pablo who becomes Ash's loyal sidekick, Delorenzo, originally from "A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas" is a wild child trying to escape her past, while "Sleepy Hollow's" Jones is a down-on-her-luck Michigan state trooper tying to investigate Ash for her partner's murder.

Ash Williams is portrayed 30 years onward since the events of the last film. He is depicted as an aging lothario who has spent decades avoiding maturity and responsibility, while exhibiting what appears to be PTSD from his last clash with the minions of the Necronomicon.

Displaying the copious gore and mayhem remembered from the first three films, "Ash Vs Evil Dead" opens with the story of a Deadite plague threatening to destroy humans, forcing Ash to finally face the demons from his past.

The franchise, created by Sam Raimi, will have a 10-episode first season, and will be executively produced by Raimi, Campbell, and Rob Tapert, all of whom were originally involved in the movie franchise. Craig DiGrigorio, the fourth executive producer, will also act as the series' showrunner.

The first episode of "Ash Vs Evil Dead" will be directed by Raimi from a script he has co-written with "Army of Darkness" screenwriter, Ivan Raimi, "Reaper" scripter, Rob Tapert, and Campbell himself.

"Ash Vs Evil Dead" is scheduled to premiere on Starz on October 31.
