Stephenie Meyer Not Ready to End 'Twilight', Author Will Miss Series' Actors

“Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer said she is not ready to see the end of her popular book series that is scheduled to wrap filming next year.

Her fantasy novels gained worldwide recognition and sold over 100 million copies globally with translations in 37 languages.

The final “Breaking Dawn” film is scheduled to finish the “Twilight” series in 2012.

“It’s interesting to be done and not done,” said Meyer to reporters at a recent Los Angeles press conference. “There was that final night of shooting and yet it doesn’t feel like the ending yet. I’m not sure what it’s going to be like.’’

The author appears in the "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" wedding scene. The movie is set to be released in theaters tomorrow.

Meyer’s appearance is rare, because she was considered “hands-off” when it came to promoting the films that are adapted from her critically acclaimed novels.

“I didn’t want to be on camera and Bill (the director) was, ‘Come on! It will be so great.’ When Kristen came down the first time she looked at me for a minute and it felt like a real wedding. It was awesome,” Meyer said.

“I’ve been hiding out for a few years, which is fun,” she added.

Before her appearance in the current film, Meyer also had a brief cameo at a dinner scene in the first Twilight film.

Meyer was more active on the set of the final films of the franchise than with the previous three movies, and she even has a producer credit on "Breaking Dawn" parts 1 and 2, which she did not have on the first three films.

“She is very shy,” said a studio insider to The Boston Herald. “But she came for the hands and footprints in cement ceremony at Grauman’s Chinese and we persuaded her to make this one appearance.”

Although the end is near for her novel series, and the films have gained her millions of fans, Meyer said she would not miss most of it. Although, she built a special bond with the people who brought her characters to life: Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Robert Pattinson.

“I’m going to miss seeing the kids,” she said.
