Steve Harvey Reduced to Tears After Birthday Surprise

Steve Harvey, comedian and talk show host, was reduced to tears when he received a surprise phone call on his self-titled television show for his birthday.

Harvey turned 56 on Thursday and spent the day hosting his "Steve Harvey" talk show. During the show, he was interrupted by the show's producer Alex who was trying to surprise him.

"This one is a surprise. OK I said no surprises, sorry," Harvey told his audience while speaking to his producer. "This is a surprise calling in via satellite from Orlando."

The surprise phone call was from a man who wished Harvey a happy birthday and asked the host, "I just have one question, do you still love me, baby?"

After seeing the man, Harvey burst into tears in an emotional moment shared by the person calling in from Florida.

"I love you, man," the comedian said in between sobs.

The man on the other line was in between tears himself saying, "I love you too, man."

Harvey went on to explain the situation to his audience, after speaking to a woman accompanying his friend from Florida.

"I was 26 years old, struggling. I didn't have nothing and these people owned a furniture store in Cleveland," the host revealed to his audience. "They took me in and gave me a contract with my little carpet cleaning company. When I became a comedian at 27, I didn't have money to travel. They gave me an account at their travel agency and I ran up a bill that was $11,000 just traveling and trying to make it. Those people right there, they helped me out!"

Harvey went on to tell the pair from Florida that he had been looking for them for years and wanted to fly them into Chicago to view his talk show. The comedian turned talk show host recently earned a People's Choice Award for being the favorite new talk show host.

After his premiere to the talk show circuit last November, Harvey's program was recently renewed for a second season.
