Struggling Father Gets Ticket, Big Surprise From Cop: "Restored My Faith in God" (VIDEO)
It was the last thing Hayden Carlo needed. The 25-year-old husband and father of two was living a financial struggle when he was pulled over by police in December 2012.
After the cop told him the stop was for an expired registration sticker, the Wylie, Tex. father was honest with the officer.
"I said 'there's no explanation for why I haven't done it, except I don't have the money,'" Carlo says in this CBS DFW video. "I said 'it was either feed my kids or get my registration done.'"
The officer still gave him the ticket, but when Carlo opened it, there was something else: a $100 bill. He broke down in his car at the surprise act of generosity by the officer, who wished to remain anonymous.
"He helped me out when I needed it and I appreciate that. I'll never forget that man," Carlo says. "It definitely restored my faith in God."
