Super Smash Bros 4 Pokemon X and Y Characters Displayed in New Pics

Super Smash Bros 4 characters that can also be seen in Pokemon X and Y made appearances in game director Masahiro Sakurai's pics of the day.

The first picture features Greninja standing atop Pulutena's Temple.

"Greninja's Shadow Sneak attack will allow it to disappear and attack enemies near by," wrote Sakurai. "Holding down the Down button will allow Greninja to move greater distances. Greninja is also able to move freely while charging an attack."

The second image features Charizard engaged in battle with Greninja. Both appear to be from the Wii U version of the game.

Sakurai also published multiple pictures last week that showed off the 3DS version. He gave a brief description of the Power Ups in Smash Run last Friday.

"Your character starts a Smash Run as a relatively ordinary fighter. But before the game, you can outfit yourself with certain items that can help power you up early, which will give you a big advantage later on!! These items are much like the Powers you'd find in Kid Icarus: Uprising," said Sakurai.

Last Thursday's picture featured Samus and Zero Suit Samus using their jet accessories in the Boxing Ring stage.

"Zero Suit Samus shows off her jet boots while Samus shows off her jet pack," he said. "Both are seen lifting off on the Wii U version of Boxing Ring."

The new games were originally rumored to be coming out in spring 2014, according to a Nintendo executive from Germany, but the company now claims that information was based on a misquote.

Nintendo's Bernd Fakesch held an interview with Neckar-chronik.de last year regarding upcoming releases for the company. Fakesch was quoted as saying the game would be arriving.

"For next spring two more big license games are also announced for our TV console with Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros," read the quote.

A Nintendo representative contacted VG247 to inform them of the misquote.

"We would like to clarify that the speculation about a Spring 2014 launch date for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U was the result of a misquotation in an interview," they said.
