'Supergirl' Season 1 Episode 18 Spoilers: Stars Benoist and Gustin Share Excitement Over Crossover Event
Just like the fans of the DC TV titles "Supergirl" and "The Flash," the series stars for each of the respective shows can't hold their excitement for that big crossover event which is slated to happen this week.
In a behind the scene video shared by TVLine, Melissa Benoist, who plays the titular heroine in the CBS series, let out a giggle when she said in the interview how happy she was when the rumored project finally come to fruition.
"It's just so cool!" the actress said rather enthusiastically.
Grant Gustin (as Barry Allen aka Flash in The CW's hit series "The Flash") meanwhile told the media outlet, "I was really excited to see the two of them next to each other…I love Melissa, I'm excited to work with Melissa…it makes their universe that much bigger.
Benoist emphasized that the Supergirl X The Flash event will definitely be a perfect treat for the fans.
"From what I gathered, everyone in the social media is down [to it]," she added.
Mehcad Brooks (as James Olsen) and Jeremy Jordan (as Winn Schott) also shared the enthusiasm by the lead actors. The former event went on to say that viewers "will go crazy" on that hour-long special "coz it's so good!"
Plot-wise, The Futon Critic also posted the synopsis for the episode called "World's Finest." As indicated, the Scarlett Speedster will arrive in National City. As for the exact details on how it came to be, fans will still have to find it out for themselves. Nonetheless, the lightning-fast hero will strike a quick alliance with the caped cousin of the Man of Steel as the latter faces up against her strongest foe yet, Siobhan aka the Silver Banshee (Italia Ricci) and her cohort, Leslie Willis/Livewire (Brit Morgan). In exchange for his help, Kara Zor-El will assist Barry in finding out the way to return him home.
