'Supergirl' Season 2 Not Yet Renewed, Lynda Carter to Play President
"Supergirl" TV series is making some buzz right now with its crossover episode featuring The Flash/Barry Allen (Grant Gustin). But season one of the show is almost closing to an end and yet it has not been announced yet if the show will run for another season. According to a report by Den of Geek, CBS has already renewed almost every show on its current roster. However, the announcement did not include a "Supergirl" season 2, which has made some of its fans worry if the show will ever get a sophomore run.
Fortunately though, there are no reports either that say the show isn't coming back for more of Supergirl's adventures. All hope is not lost also as the source stated that CBS CEO Les Moonves is planning to renew all five of CBS' new TV shows. He did not enumerate the five but considering "Supergirl's" performance in terms of ratings and critics, the series is a top-notcher among the rest.
Fans will just have to watch out for the season 1 finale of the show, which will air in April 11, as there will be a twist that will create an impact to the next seasons to come. Aside from that, Bustle detailed that Melissa Benoist, who plays the title character or Kara Zor-El, has shared her own excitement over the development of her role. She said during an interview, "I want to see her become even stronger and even more invincible, not just through her powers."

Another report that has kept fans maintain their hope to be high is that "Supergirl" has already revealed a classic actress who will be part of season 2 cast. Entertainment Weekly reported that executive producers Andrew Kreisberg and Greg Berlanti will be adding "Wonder Woman" alum actress Lynda Carter in the show to play a role that they have been wanting for her to do—President of the United States of America. Kreisberg and Berlanti disclosed that they have wanted Carter for the show but the latter's schedule could not coincide with theirs so they're attempting to try again the second time around.
