'Supergirl'/'The Flash' Crossover News, Spoilers: Melissa Benoist's Supergirl will race The Flash on World's Finest

In less than two weeks, DC fans will be treated to the much-anticipated team-up between Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and The Flash (Grant Gustin).

The crossover episode, titled "Worlds Finest," will find Barry Allen/The Flash lending Kara Zor-El/Supergirl a helping hand in her fight against two adversaries: Siobhan Smythe/Silver Banshee (Italia Ricci) and Leslie Willis/Livewire (Brit Morgan). In return, Supergirl will help The Flash, who is coming from an alternate universe, return to Central City. The speedster's visit in the "Supergirl" episode marks the first crossover event for the CBS superhero series.

Speaking to TVLine ahead of the "Supergirl" panel at this weekend's PaleyFest L.A., Benoist said, "It is the most joyous occasion to have these two superheroes together in the same place, at the same time, working together."

"They are both so happy with their powers and what they get to do and how they get to help people, that it's kind of infectious and exciting and upbeat and happy," she gushed.

During the panel, the "Supergirl" star dropped a major detail about the crossover event, revealing that Supergirl and The Flash will find out which of them is "the fastest person alive."

"I'm excited for you guys to see the race," Benoist told the crowd (via ComicBook.com). Though the Supergirl vs. The Flash race does take place in the DC comics and has been teased by the poster for the upcoming episode, this is the first official confirmation that the race will, indeed, be held in "Worlds Finest."

Meanwhile, the superheroes' chemistry onscreen has reportedly been so good that it has inspired the show's producers to consider more crossovers. "We really had an amazing time making it," executive producer Ali Adler told TVLine. "It was tough to juggle people's schedules. The Flash is a busy man, but in success, we'd love to do this again."

"Worlds Finest" airs Monday, March 28, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
