Taylor Swift and Harry Styles News: Reference to One Direction Star in New Music Video
Taylor Swift has just released the music video for "Style" last Friday, Feb. 13, which is a track from her 1989 album. The video was set to premiere in "Good Morning America," but the music video appeared on "Canada's Much Music" a few hours before schedule.
The video, directed by Kyle Newman, is a departure from the singer's energetic "Shake it Off" video and her last video for "Blank Space." Filled with beach scenes and glass shards, the video is lit by soft lighting and moody projections over a love interest played by model Dominic Sherwood.
Prior to the video's release, the song is said to be about Swift's ex, One Direction member Harry Styles. The song is filled with references to Styles, starting with the title, the lyrics mentioning a boy with long, slicked back hair and a white t-shirt who "can't keep his eyes on the road." In the video, Swift holds up a paper airplane necklace, which is similar to one of Styles' favorite accessories.
Meanwhile, Hollywood Life reports that Styles' rumored girlfriend, model Nadine Leopold, is not happy with Swift's tribute to Styles.
"For one thing, it's making his relationship with Nadine more difficult. They feel like wherever they go, they are hearing Taylor's songs on the radio," a source tells the website.
"Nadine really wants Taylor to get over him. She wants Harry to herself and doesn't think it's right for Taylor to draw this out anymore. She wants Taylor to go away," adds the insider.
Another source tells Hollywood Life that Styles wants Swift to stop singing songs about him in the future.
"He wants Taylor to move on and stop talking, singing, making videos about their relationship," said the source.
