Taylor Swift Spotted on Beach as 'The Lorax' Earns $71 Million

Pop-country music star Taylor Swift was enjoying the box-office success of "The Lorax" while vacationing on the beach over the weekend.

Friday marked the premiere of Swift's latest project, "The Lorax." The singer lent her voice to the film's character, Audrey. Inspired by Dr. Seuss, "The Lorax" opened with this year's top box office sales, and raked in over $70 million.

The 22-year-old was spotted in a black-and-white striped bikini at Cottesloe Beach in Perth, Australia on Thursday. Her 50's-style swimsuit featured a halter-top, and Swift combined the suit with a large pair of sunglasses and a low ponytail.

"The Lorax," which is available for viewing in 3-D also, featured the voices of Zac Efron, Danny DeVito, and Betty White.

Currently, a busy Swift is on the road with her sold-out Speak Now tour. After the box-office success of "The Lorax," many people are wondering if the singer and songwriter will pursue more acting roles in the future.

Swift confronted questions about her career plans in a recent interview with MTV News, explaining that acting would require many elements.

"Acting is something I've been fascinated by my entire life," said the singer who recorded her role in "The Lorax" in a voiceover booth. "I would want to have the time, the ability and the love for something, the love for a character to where I could really make that commitment to it."

"The Lorax" hit theaters what would have been Dr. Seuss' 108th birthday. Of her contribution to the film adaptation of Seuss' story, Swift said she is a longtime fan of the children's book author who even influenced her musical career.

"When I was a kid, Dr. Seuss was the first experience I had reading poetry," explained the singer who often uses her poetry in her music. "And I fell in love with how poetry makes words and stories almost lyrical - it's like a song."

Swift added that "The Lorax" was her childhood favorite.
