'Teen Mom' Kailyn Lowry Marroquin Releases Teaser for New Memoir, 'Pride Over Pity'

"Teen Mom 2" star Kailyn Lowry-Marroquin is preparing to release her first book, a memoir entitled "Pride Over Pity," in April. She broke the news this week and warned fans that it contains heavy material that they may not expect.

"We've put a lot of work into this over the last couple of years and I think you all will be very surprised by it," Marroquin said on her Facebook page. "There are a lot of things in it involving addiction, rape, being abandoned by my dad … and tons of things in between. My life before the cameras and where I want things to go from here. Hopefully you guys will understand things a little better after reading it!"

Fans have been quite responsive to the announcement and encouraged Marroquin to be completely honest and said that they are looking forward to the book. So far, her announcement alone has received over 2,800 "likes" from followers.

Marroquin will join a select group of "Teen Mom" stars who have released books after their show aired. Farrah Abraham released her memoir, "My Teenage Dream Ended," which was a great success among friends and fans. Mackenzie Douthit, who recently welcomed her second child, is prominently featured in her mother's book, "Life With Mike," about raising a child with Down syndrome.

Marroquin took a jab at Abraham's book, noting that her own would "be NOTHING like Farrah's as far as editing goes." So far Abraham has not responded to Marroquin's slam, but several followers have encouraged her not to "stoop" to Abraham's level in order to sell her own book.

What's interesting is that while Marroquin mentions being abandoned by her father, she also has not had a good relationship with her mother. In the book, according to a sneak peek, Marroquin addresses that relationship in-depth.

"I've forgiven my mom for not being there, but I've also become stronger. Strong enough to know when I need I need to leave certain people out of my life. I've already forgiven my mother for what has already been done. But if I were to have a relationship with her, how many more times would I have to be hurt and let down and forgive her again and again?" Marroquin wrote.

The latest season of "Teen Mom 2" is currently airing on MTV.
