'Teen Mom' Renewed for Sixth Season, but Without Farrah Abraham
After much debate, it looks like the girls from the original "Teen Mom" series will be returning for a fifth season … only this time one of the girls will be missing. Farrah Abraham has reportedly not been asked back for another season because of her behavior off camera.
"MTV agreed," a source told Us Weekly about the negotiations between MTV and three of the stars: Maci Bookout, Catelynn Lowell, and Amber Portwood. "They feel she set a bad example and doesn't represent the network well. They don't want their kids on a show where someone's talking about sex toys."
From the very beginning of the negotiations, Bookout, Lowell and Portwood were adamant that they did not want to be on the same series as Abraham. After the first four seasons ended, Abraham decided to go off on her own and broke into the adult entertainment industry, with two explicit videos and her own line of adult toys. None of the other young women agreed with her decisions and made it clear to MTV that if they were to return for another series, they would only do so without Abraham.

Fans of the original series are thrilled at the possibility of continuing to follow the lives of Bookout, Lowell, and Portwood. While MTV tried to start a third series of "Teen Mom," the fan following was just not there. The only other "Teen Mom" series to do as well as the original is "Teen Mom 2," which was just renewed for a sixth season.
For her part, Abraham has insisted that she wants nothing more to do with MTV, the company that helped get her started in the entertainment industry.
"Truthfully, I was never friends with any of them," Abraham told Us Weekly in April. "Personally, I like to keep my life separate. We came in the project separate, and I think it's best we keep our lives separate."
