'Teen Wolf' Season 5 Episode 18 Spoilers: Flashback To Reveal Clues On The Identity Of The Beast Of Gevaudan

MTV's hit supernatural drama TV series "Teen Wolf" Season 5 returns this week with a brand new episode that will take fans back to the time when it all began.

According to executive producer Jeff Davis in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Episode 18, titled "Maid of Gevaudan," will reveal what really happened in 18th century France where the Beast of Gevaudan was first spotted.

"We definitely learn more about [The Beast]. There's plenty of research and literature out there about the myth of The Beast and what it actually was. Was it a prehistoric animal that somehow survived? Was it actually a pack of wolves? We delve into that and we try to tell the true story, and our Argents intersect with that," the EP spoke about the flashback-heavy episode.

Aside from having a glimpse of what truly transpired in the past, the report also indicates that the upcoming episode will mark the return of cast member Crystal Reed. Fans may know the actor for portraying Allison Argent way back in the first three seasons of the series. Reed won't be reprising her deceased character. Rather, she will play the role of one of her ancestors, Marie-Jeanne Valet.

The latest promo released by the network and shared over at YouTube further reveals information about the aforementioned character. As narrated, Valet was a "skilled hunter who later faced the Beast." History knows her as the Maid of Gevaudan.

Back in Beacon Hill, the pack will be terrified when they learn that their Alpha has decided to face the Beast by himself, the report from Zap2it.com reads.

Unlike most of Scott's (Tyler Posey) adversaries, the Beast is probably one of the most fearsome that he has ever encountered. Its identity is still unknown to him. What they know, however, is the fact that it is capable of instilling terror on both humans and werewolves. Should Scott continue on with his plans, will there be a possibility that the season could end with the A-Wolf dead?

Find out how these events unfold when "Teen Wolf" Season 5 Episode 18 premieres this Tuesday, Feb. 23 on MTV.
