Real Housewives of New Jersey News: Teresa Giudice Catches Up On Fan Mail, Working in Prison Kitchen
It has been more than a month since Teresa Giudice reported to prison to serve her 15-month sentence for fraud, and it appears that the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star is adjusting well to life behind bars. The mother of four has reportedly gotten her preferred job in prison and has found ways to pass the time.
"She is watching 'Empire' and 'Scandal' with two other inmates," an insider told The New York Daily News. The source claims that Giudice is on a fairly lenient TV watching schedule because she is on her best behavior.
"She is also watching 'Real Housewives of Atlanta,'" the insider added.
Giudice has also landed a job in the Danbury prison's kitchen, where she is reportedly making some of her Italian specialties with whatever ingredients she can find.
"She's not in the laundry [as had been incorrectly reported], she's in the kitchen cooking," added the source.
The jail has also reportedly been overwhelmed with fan mail for Giudice, and that she has been receiving a "ton" of letters from supporters wishing her well while she spends the next months locked up.
"She [is reading] them. She isn't writing back though, she doesn't have the time," explained the insider, saying that Giudice's schedule in jail is packed with chores which leaves her with very little time for anything else.
The reality star has been writing emails to her four daughters, which are monitored by jail staffers. It was also reported that her husband Joe, along with her daughters, has visited a few times since she turned herself in on Jan. 5.
Giudice is expected to be released early and home by Christmas. By then, she will have served 85 percent of her sentence.
