Terrell Owens Baltimore Raven April Fools Joke Sparks Mixed Reactions
Terrell Owens may have been the subject of an April Fools joke when some people speculated about the 39-year-old free agent wide receiver being signed to the Baltimore Ravens.
News of Owens being given a 1-year contract with the Raven broke on baltimorebeatdown.com.
"Baltimore signed TO to a one-year contract at the NFL veteran minimum salary, loaded with incentives based on his 2013 production," baltimorebeatdown.com reports stated. "Owens' 15,934 receiving yards is the second most in NFL history, behind Jerry Rice's 22,895. Owens NFL career spanned 15 seasons, between 1996 and 2010."

A number of people heard about the news and took to Twitter to react.
"Congratulations @terrellowens," a number of people tweeted.
Other people seemed confused.
"Did the Baltimore Ravens just sign Terrell Owens," another person questioned.
However, baltimorebeatdown.com let it be known that the report was nothing more than an April Fool's day prank.
"NOTE: Oh yeah, by the way....APRIL's FOOLS," the end of the website's report stated.
Some people found the prank less than amusing.
"A freakin website just said Ravens signed Terrell Owens as an April fools joke...that was sick," one person tweeted.
Although Owens was given an opportunity to play with the Seattle Seahawks last year, he was waived from the team after a few weeks. Owens spoke about his unwavering faith while trying to get back into the league.
"I'm truly blessed beyond belief," Owens tweeted last August. "My FAITH is intact & will NOT waiver."
While Owens has had trouble getting his NFL career back on track since being sidelined with an injury in 2010, he spoke about transitioning into acting last year when speaking with The Christian Post.
"I know that time is near and I'm preparing myself the best way I can considering the unforeseen string of events that have transpired within the last two years," the wideout told CP. "Acting is definitely something I am (and) will be in pursuit of as I transition from football."
