Terrell Owens Heads to Korea For 'Illegal' Stem Cell Treatment
NFL Freelance Wide Receiver Terrell Owens is reportedly in South Korea undergoing stem cell treatment to repair a knee injury he suffered earlier this year. The treatments that Owens will receive are currently illegal in the U.S.
The highly controversial football player is expected to receive treatment at the Chaum Anti-aging Center under the care of Doctor Lee Jung-no to repair a severely damaged anterior cruciate ligament. Owens was previously treated by Dr. James Andrews of the Andrew Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center who failed to surgically repair the career-ending injury.
According to the Korean newspaper, The Korea Times, Dr. Lee Jung-no confirmed, “Dr. Andrews advised Owens to contact [Chaum Anti-aging Center] first, which then led him to visit our office here.”

Jung-no also stated that Owens is to start “with therapy Monday followed by the collecting and storing of his stem cells the next day.” The entire process is expected to take a total of three days.
Located in Seoul Korea and designed by KMD Architects, the Chaum Anti-Aging Life Center is a 400,000 square feet multi-floor, open space medical facility with a concierge desk and lounges fashioned to resemble a luxury hotel.
The cause of how Terrell Owen injured his ACL during the off-season has yet to be confirmed. Several media outlets have speculated the incident occurred during a workout while taping a VH1 segment. Other sources report that Owens injured his ACL when he tore his meniscus cartilage in the 2010 season. Dr. Andrews also treated Owens for the torn meniscus cartilage.
Dubbed as one the NFL’s most controversial football players, Terrell Owens began his career 1996 when he was drafted by the San Francisco 49’ers; He then went on to play with the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and most recently, Cincinnati Bengals. His accomplishments as an athlete include six Pro Bowl appearances and 2nd place on the NFL’s all-time touchdown list.
Since the 2010 season, 38 year-old Terrell Owens hasn’t played in the NFL and is adamant about playing in the 2011 season. He hopes the U.S banned stem cell treatments will get him back in the game.
