Terrelle Pryor Drafted to the Oakland Raiders
The Oakland Raiders have acquired Terelle Pryor in the third round of the NFL supplemental draft on Monday.
The former Ohio State University quarterback endured a workout in front of 17 teams on Saturday where he ran a 4.36 in the 40-yard-dash, according to ESPN reports. Drew Rosenhaus, Pryor’s agent, said the 22-year-old was elated with the news after an NCAA scandal almost prevented him from joining the draft.
Pryor allegedly had eight cars while attending Ohio State University, breaking NCAA rules by receiving frivolous benefits as a player for the team. The young QB received the decision from the NFL on Thursday that he could join their draft, although he will be suspended for his first five games.

"We're tickled and thrilled that Terrelle went in the third round and to the Raiders," Rosenhaus said. "The third round is quite an accomplishment for a young man who had his pro day 48 hours ago and didn't know he would be in the draft until Thursday morning and wasn't able to meet with any decision makers."
ESPN reports that Pryor will receive a four-year $2.36 million deal, which would include a signing bonus amounting to $591,000.
Rosenhaus said his client would be a unique addition to the Oakland Raiders.
"We all know how Al Davis likes big players who can run and Terrelle brings a dimension of size and speed that's unique to the quarterback position," Rosenhaus said, according to ESPN reports. "The Raiders are a good fit for him because they have had an unsettled quarterback situation for a number of years and have worked in a number of different players. Any young quarterback would like the opportunity to go there and compete and be the guy."
In his last season at Ohio State, Pryor threw for 2,722 yards and 27 touchdowns with 11 interceptions. The QB helped lead his team to win the Sugar Bowl.
Pryor’s agent said he is more than optimistic about the opportunity to play with the Raiders once his suspension is lifted.
"We're optimistic this will be a smooth negotiation," he said. "We enjoy working with the Raiders and he's very excited."
