Tesla Model 3 News: Auto's Pre-Order Line Starts in Australia

Tesla has finally unveiled its Model 3 that fans around the world have been waiting to see and though there are still aspects of the auto that has to be changed, Australians can get to see the much-anticipated car for the first time.

In a Twitter post on Wednesday, the company's CEO said "Model 3 order day starting in Australia," accompanied by a photo that shows three autos parked outside a Tesla store. People are also seen starting to line up in front of the waiting line as a photographer captures the Model 3's first moments in the open world.

Musk followed up with a tweet saying Australia's unveiling is only "Part 1" of the event. Part 2 will be much more detailed as he said the second half of the festivities "will be closer to production."

It is unclear what exactly Musk meant with his second tweet but when a fan asked if he will be able to see the car, the manufacturer said "You will see the car very clearly, but some important elements will be added and some will evolve."

Little is known about Tesla's newest model but many people are ready to dish out $1,000 to serve as their deposit for the car that won't arrive this year. Since Musk clarified on social media that there are still things to be fixed in Model 3, some critics believe that it might take longer than 2017 for the auto to arrive.

The anticipation for Tesla's most affordable release yet is expected. Compared to the models S and X tagged at over $100,000, the new vehicle is said to start at only $35,000. The electric car is expected to sell a profit since both the S and X models failed to deliver the figures that Tesla initially thought would be recorded in their sales.

As for U.S. consumers, pre-orders will begin Thursday, March 31, 2016. Though the automaker will start accepting deposits in the morning, the sedan will only be displayed for actual viewing in the evening.
