Tesla Motors Model 3 News: Will It Change the EV Industry?

Tesla Motors recently launched the latest model of its pure-electric vehicle line, which could be a major development for the electric cars industry.

It was stated that the Tesla Model 3 was recently unveiled, revealing a sleek take on sedans. During the launch, more than 325,000 people gave their deposits for the vehicle, which will be sold at $35,000 US dollars.
Because of this, there are already long lines of prospective buyers at Tesla dealerships all around Canada. This created speculations that this could signify the rise of electric vehicles in the industry.

The secretary general of the Norwegian EV Assosiation, Christina Bu, believes that this could be a major step for electric cars in the industry. As reported by CTV News, she said, "The Tesla Model 3 will help pave the way for other electric cars, too, like the [Nissan] Leaf, the Bolt and the [BMW] i3. The market is big enough for all of them. The OEMs that have been slow to react and still believe EVs are only for city commuting will soon have a problem."

She also explained that many large car companies previously took on the development of electric vehicles in order to comply with political demands. However, she proposed that Tesla's new vehicle will change the way large companies approach electric vehicles. She foresees a rapid increase in technological development for the industry.

However, there are some experts who suggest otherwise. According to automotive sales analyst, Timothy Cain, this will not lead to an increase for other electronic vehicle manufacturers. He explained, "There's a mystique about Tesla that suggests a comparable product from another manufacturer doesn't just hold less appeal—it holds no appeal. A Tesla Model 3 buyer may not become a Chevrolet Bolt buyer, for instance, if the Model 3 never comes to fruition."
