Texas Judge Responds to Beating Daughter Video: 'I Haven't Done Anything Wrong' (VIDEO)

A video of Texas County Court Judge William Adams whipping his daughter 17 times has been released, and the resulting response could get the public servant removed from his position.

"I haven't done anything wrong," Judge Adams told KZTV News.

Hillary Adams, the judge’s daughter, taped her father beating her in 2004, when she was only 16. Last week, she posted the video on YouTube, writing underneath the video, “Adams’ ‘judgement’ is a giant farce.”

Coincidentally, the Arkansas County judge has heard nearly 350 family cases this past year.

According to Hillary, she recorded the incident because she knew “something was about to happen,” says The Telegraph. The 23-year-old has made it widely known that the whippings were a regular form of discipline in the Adams household.

The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services has been made aware of the situation and a representative said they would, “take the appropriate steps in this matter,” via email.

There is talk of the judge being removed or even disbarred, but the statute of limitations would certainly come into play concerning an incident that happened about seven years ago.

Currently, Judge Adams is not hearing cases temporarily because of the video.

A Corpus Christi news station, KZTV, caught up with Adams to get his response to the video, his chosen form of discipline, and his opinions on the events.

When asked about Hillary, he said, “My life’s been made very difficult over this child,” and that, “in my mind, I haven’t done anything wrong, other than discipline my child after she was caught stealing.”

The video depicts Adams lashing his daughter, punctuated by demands for an explanation regarding Hillary’s download of illegal computer games.

Although his face isn’t seen in the video because of the angle of the camera, Adams never denies it is him on the recording. Still, he claims he has hired a lawyer and that the entire story will eventually be revealed.

The Texas man did let on that he had, “apologized to [Hillary],” though.

Hallie Adams, Hillary’s mother, was present in the video, striking her daughter once with the belt. In an NBC interview, however, she asserts that she was “brainwashed and controlled” into hitting Hillary. The video’s description also absolves the mother of any wrongdoing.

Hallie has been divorced from Adams since 2007.
