'The Amazing Race' Season 27 Winners Kelsey and Joey Get Engaged!

"The Amazing Race" season 27 turned out to be a double victory for winners Kelsey Gerckens and Joey Buttitta, who recently got engaged during a taping for "Home & Family."

Kelsey Gerckens and Joey Buttitta took home a million dollars after being the first ones to reach the finish line in "The Amazing Race" season 27. The fun does not stop there because the couple has also scored another victory with their recent engagement, according to Enstars.

On Tuesday, Gerckens and Buttitta appeared on "Home & Family" on Hallmark Channel with the reality contest host Phil Keoghan. When hosts Mark Steines and Cristina Ferrare asked them what their wedding would be like, Gerckens got the surprise of her life when her partner dropped down on his knee and proposed with a Kirk Kara ring, E! Online reports.

"Kelsey, I love you so much, and we have run this amazing journey together, and I love you, I can't imagine being with anyone else," said Buttitta. "Will you marry me?"

Gerckens then giggled before saying yes and kissing Buttitta. Gerckens' mother and brother were present in the audience for the occasion.

On Dec. 17, the newly engaged couple broke the news to the public via Twitter. Both of them posted photos from the actual proposal. Buttitta thanked "Home & Family" and expressed how lucky he felt for having Gerckens. The latter, on the other hand, included a photo of the moment she said "Yes" to the love of her life, the report relays.

"The Amazing Race" was a show that brought Gerckens and Buttitta closer together, the couple said. It is worth noting that during the whole season, they did not fight with any of the contestants.

Meanwhile, Joey Buttitta said they will use the money they won from "The Amazing Race" season 27 for a house where he will live with Kelsey Gerckens, and some would also go to helping his parents settle their mortgage.
