'The Good Wife' Season 6 Spoilers: Elsbeth Tascioni 'Talking About Coming Back' Next Season

"The Good Wife" fans must wait until the fall for season six to premiere, but reports this week offer clues about what is in store next season.

Carrie Preston, who portrayed the beloved character Elsbeth Tascioni on "The Good Wife," recently confirmed that she was in talks about returning to the CBS drama. The actress appeared on eleven episodes spanning across 2013 and 2014, but she could return for two episodes of season six later this year.

"Right now they are talking to me about coming back for another two episodes," Preston revealed to TVLine. "I would love to go back. I would love to be there full-time. If it were up to me, I would be."

Preston's comments were followed by rumors suggesting an entire spin-off series of "The Good Wife" featuring her character, Elsbeth. "The Good Wife" co-creator Robert King admitted that the spin-off was a possibility.

"We've discussed it internally," he said, according to TVLine. "It always comes down to where you can put your energy. Our worry is that – we're not the kind of showrunners, unfortunately, who can take our eyes off this and do two things at once. I wish we could because there's no one more fun to work with and better comedian than Carrie Preston. There's such a cool show there."

Meanwhile, as previously reported, King revealed a major spoiler surrounding the main character on "The Good Wife," Julianna Marguiles' Alicia Florrick. Alicia is in an unorthodox marriage to Peter (Chris Noth), and King promised fans that the relationship between the power couple would get even more complicated in season six.

"How does that work? Can it work? Is it truly possible that you can have an agreement with your spouse that the sexual relationship is over and the love has to be put on hold, even though we're going to use each other for what power we can give each other," King queried. "Chris [Noth] and Jules [Marguiles] seem very willing to take us there, so we're up for it."

"The Good Wife" returns to CBS this fall.
