'The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild' Story DLC Coming Later This Year
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" still has one last hurrah before the year is out with the release of its second DLC (downloadable content) pack, "The Champions' Ballad." This was announced by Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime who revealed that the upcoming expansion will be story-based and focuses on the base game's champions.
In a recent interview with Kotaku, Fils-Aime confirmed that the action-adventure title will indeed get its second major update this year. He also revealed that the DLC will expand the base game's story and will focus on the mythical champions.
Other than that, Fils-Aime wasn't too forthcoming with details particularly the DLC's launch date. However, he did warn fans not to expect it to be released alongside the Breath of the Wild Champions Amiibo set to debut on Nov. 10. Nevertheless, Fils-Aime promised that Breath of the Wild fans will get it before the end of the year.

While he didn't reveal much, fans can glean a few details about what to expect with The Champion's Ballad. For one, it will still allow you to play as Link even though Zelda and the champions will be the primary focus of the narrative. Additionally, given that Nintendo is going out of their way to ensure that the DLC's secrets remain as such until its eventual release date, there is probably something big in store for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" by the end of the year.
For now, players will have to get by with the minimal information shared by Fils-Aime as they plan their holiday shopping. Still, it's probably safe to say most will have enough spare change to get the update when the DLC is released possibly in time by December.
"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is currently available for the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U.
