'The Mindy Project' Season 4 News, Spoilers: Mindy Kaling, Showrunner on Future of Mindy-Danny Relationship, Season 4B

The midseason premiere of the "The Mindy Project," which aired on Tuesday, April 12, shed light on the big question left at the end of last year's midseason finale: Will Mindy (Mindy Kaling) and Danny (Chris Messina) stay together or go their separate ways?

Roughly four months after the first half of season 4 ended, the back half kicked off with Mindy trying to make things work with Danny before eventually deciding to officially end things after she finds a tube of lipstick that's not hers in his bathroom cabinet.

Now, fans of "The Mindy Project" will have to tune in to find out if Mindy's decision will stick and how the two will manage as co-parents.

Kaling, the star, creator, and executive producer of the Hulu romantic comedy, recently answered some of Entertainment Weekly's questions about the second half of the show's fourth season.

According to the comedienne, Mindy and Danny's contrasting parenting philosophies will be the source of much laughter in season 4B.

"Danny's parenting icon is Joseph of Nazareth. Mindy's is Cersei Lannister," she quipped.

As for whether or not Mindy will be jumping right back into the dating scene now that she is single once again, Kaling answered: "Oh, she's going to be jumping on a lot of things, heh heh. But yeah, Mindy will be dating again."

The actress/author also spoke about the many new faces to expect in the back half of season 4, including the woman Danny dates after Mindy, and the "Walking Dead" star Morgan (Ike Barinholtz) and Jody (Garret Dillahunt) will be in a love triangle with.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Matt Warburton talked about whether or not there is still hope for Mindy and Danny's relationship.

"We're catching them in a rocky patch and we don't have the end in mind," he said. "But the goal is just try and reach into our audience's lives and paint the story of a real, 3D, modern relationship and any outcome is possible."

Warburton also teased how season 4B will conclude, saying, "The spring finale will leave people in a very-much-up-in-the-air place in a way that I'm excited to see how they react."

"The Mindy Project" airs Tuesdays on Hulu.
