'The Walking Dead' Season 6 News, Spoilers: Finale Ends on Major Cliffhanger; Actors in the Dark as Well
Following months of anticipation and much speculation, fans of AMC's "Game of Thrones" were finally able to watch its much-hyped season 6 finale.
As expected, "The Good Wife" actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan made a stunning debut as the long-awaited new main villain Negan, the leader of the Saviors. The episode, titled "Last Day On Earth" also made good on the promise that a member of Rick's (Andrew Lincoln) group would be killed by Negan - the ultimate price for their various attacks on the Saviors and a way for the mega-villain to show Rick who's the new boss. Unfortunately for viewers who waited months to find out if their beloved characters will be dead or alive by the end of the finale, the world will have to wait until season 7 airs to learn who Negan killed.
"Pissin' our pants yet?" Negan asked during his intro. "Boy, do I have a feeling we're getting close."
He then turned to Rick and introduced himself. "Hi, you're Rick, right? I'm Negan," he said. "And I do not appreciate you killing my men."
The scene that followed, in which Negan had the zombie apocalypse survivors lined up so he could choose which one would die, was almost exactly similar to how the scene plays out in the "Walking Dead" comic books. Negan proceeded to play Eeny Meeny Miny Mo and, having chosen his victim, brought down Lucille, his barbed wire-covered baseball bat, on the person's head.
At that moment, the perspective shifted to that of the victim. The unfortunate person's ears started to ring and blood dripped down the camera's lens as the screen cut to black. All the viewers were left with were the sounds of the other Alexandrians' screaming and the sound of the baseball bat's impact on the victim's head.
While fans are understandably upset over how the finale played out and what is certain to be many months of speculation and debate, some of the show's actors have revealed that even they don't know who was killed off in the season 6 finale.
"I've been a fan of the show since the beginning and for me, I'm speculating about where it's going to go and where it's headed," Ross Marquand, who plays Aaron, told ComicBook.com.
According to Chandler Riggs, who plays Rick's son Carl, he is just as clueless about the finale as everyone else. After the episode aired, Riggs tweeted, "if it makes you feel any better i still don't know who got killed and it's been like 6 months since i read the script #whoisit"
The new season of "The Walking Dead" will debut later this year.
