'The Walking Dead' Season 6 News, Spoilers: Norman Reedus Teases Daryl's Fate; Josh McDermitt On 'Exciting' Finale
The penultimate episode of AMC's "The Walking Dead" ended with fan favorite character Daryl Dixon's (Norman Reedus) fate in question, leaving fans to ponder for seven more days if they will find Daryl dead or alive in the much-anticipated season finale.
In "East," Daryl was shot by Dwight (Austin Amelio), the same guy who killed Denise (Merritt Wever) in the previous episode, "Twice As Far." Denise's death drove Daryl to hunt down Dwight despite his friend's protests. Ultimately, the decision to try and avenge Denise may have cost Daryl his life.
"You should be very worried about Daryl," Reedus said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

The actor also spoke about the line that has given Daryl fans some hope about the character's survival. Just as the scene cuts to black after Dwight shoots Daryl, the former says, "You'll be alright." Some fans have taken this to mean that Dwight did not shoot Daryl to kill him but merely to incapacitate him in that moment.
However, according to Reedus, that line may not have even been directed at Daryl. Perhaps Dwight was talking to Rosita (Christian Serratos) or someone else in the scene.
"Anyone automatically assuming that's the obvious play is trusting words that come out of that guy's mouth and we're really good at throwing you for a loop," the actor said. "So... food for thought."
Meanwhile, actor Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene Porter in the zombie apocalypse series, recently spoke to ComicBook.com about the upcoming season finale. During a live Q&A with the website, the actor said, "I echo a lot of those sentiments about the episode but ultimately I feel like it's the best episode the show's done in just reading the script."
According to McDermitt, the last eight episodes of the season are some of the best the show has ever done. The actor also spoke about how excited he is for the finale and said, "There is no preparing for it."
"There's no preparing for the finale and what we have left on the show," he added.
"The Walking Dead" airs its extended 90-minute season finale on Sunday, April 3, at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
