'The Young and the Restless' Cast News, Spoilers: Michael Muhney Joining Billy Miller and Michelle Stafford at 'General Hospital?'

"The Young and the Restless" fans are furious over losing some of their favorite actors to ABC's "General Hospital" this year.

Actors including Michael Muhney, Billy Miller and Michelle Stafford were released by "Y&R" showrunner Jill Farren Phelps, who is said to prefer hiring her close friends on the soap opera instead, according to reports this week. Making matters worse, the aforementioned actors are each named in reports hinting at roles on "General Hospital."

Muhney, who portrayed fan favorite Adam Newman, was fired from "Y&R" amidst sexual harassment allegations earlier this year. Today, the actor is said to have been cast as back-from-the-dead A.J. Quartermaine on "GH," according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry. The news disappointed "Y&R" fans who have boycotted the soap opera in order to encourage Phelps to re-hire Muhney. However, the actor's mother recently debunked gossip that suggested Muhney was considering rejoining the cast at "Y&R."

"I hate to dash anyone's hopes, but those aren't Michael's hands on Y&R," Muhney's mother tweeted on June 17 before adding, "His tweets have NOTHING to do with the show."

The actor's mother went on to clear up the persistent rumors that Muhney had groped his co-star Hunter King, according to Celebrity Dirty Laundry.

"Michael gave the answers to his exit in his last interview," she wrote on Twitter. "As to tumors - gossip rags quoted an anonymous fan who posted on a message board. Silly. There's never a need to comment on rumors. They're neverending!"

As for Miller and Stafford, the former "Y&R" stars have already hopped over to "GH," according to GLOBE magazine. Miller, who portrayed Billy Abbott on "Y&R," will appear on "GH" as Jason Morgan reincarnated later this summer.

Alternately, Stafford, who played Phyllis Summers Newman on "Y&R," is joining Miller at "GH" in the role of Nina Clay. It is believed that ABC is fighting for higher ratings and is intentionally stealing "Y&R" fans since the soap opera's loyal fans have pledged to follow their favorite actors anywhere.
