'The Living Bible' author, Tyndale House founder dies – June 10, 2005

This week marks the anniversary of when Kenneth Taylor, the founder of the publishing company Tyndale House known for creating The Living Bible paraphrase translation, died at age 88.

Taylor created The Living Bible due to a reported desire to make the Bible more accessible to his children, with his work selling approximately 40 million copies from 1971 to 2005.

"Taylor’s dream was for all peoples of the world to read and understand God’s Word and experience its power at work in their lives," noted Tyndale House.

"From his earliest children’s books to his generous support of Christian ministry, this vision was (and still is) reflected in his work."
