'Thor 3' News, Update: Chris Hemsworth Shares Choice Of Actors For Villain Roles

The plot and casting details of Marvel's upcoming big screen offering, "Thor: Ragnarok," is still very limited at the moment.

What is already known, however, is that the third installment to the standalone movie series will see the return of actor Chris Hemsworth as the titular hero. It is also reported that the movie will dive into the dark and apocalyptic theme of the Ragnarok comic book storyline which, as speculated by many, could see the death of major characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Regardless of which, a new report surfaced this week indicating what seems to be Hemsworth's choice of villain for the upcoming title.

In a report from CinemaBlend.com, it was revealed that the 32-year-old was out to promote his 2015 movie, "In the Heart of the Sea." In an interview with the media outlet, the Australian actor was asked who among his "The Huntsman: Winter's War" co-stars would he like to go head-to-head with in Thor 3. "Winter's War," for those who missed it, is the prequel/spin-off to the 2012 film, "Snow White and the Huntsman."

"They all have potential to scare the hell out of me, any of those women. I felt like the little brother, getting bossed around by these three women in the best way," Hemsworth said, referring to actresses Emily Blunt, Charlize Theron and Jessica Chastain.

"Oh God, don't make me pick one... maybe Jessica, but only because [Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron] are already villains in our film," he went on to tell CinemaBlend.

Taking hints from the conversation, the website noted that Chastain could be a good addition to the MCU. The reason would be to avoid "type casting."

Blunt and Theron, the site explained, have played villainous roles. In the new Huntsman film, the duo will also be the baddies. Chastain, meanwhile, has only played an antagonistic role in "Crimson Peak."

"Thor: Ragnarok" will reportedly begin production in June 2016 and slated to hit the theaters July 28, 2017.
